When I was a little brown-skinned, big-eyed girl, my sweet grandmother Emma Green always told me stories before I went to bed. Her rich southern imagination captured my curiosity and storytelling became deeply planted in my soul. As the years passed, I began writing letters to family members, a few presidents of the United States and always in my personal diary. Writing was a source of inspiration which helped to refresh my perspective on issues within my life. Writing became my close friend, my testimony, my song of thanksgivings and a plea for understanding. My goal is to share my stories and help people who are going through challenges and obstacles. Maybe my poems will uplift and motivate someone, remove any misconceptions and add positive energy to the natural harmony of their lives. Whoever my writings influence let it always encourage, motivate and release waves of motivation to march on their personal journey with tenacity and persistence. Always be a doer, if you have inner pain take it with you, if you are plagued with depression and anxiety take it with you and continue to work toward your goals. Do not stop. One day you will look up and the pain will speak and boldly say, “Let me get the hell out of here.”
